Steph Haddox, Founder and Lead Instructor
I’ve been a massage therapist since 2011. I opened Balance Massage Therapy in 2012, and Balance Massage School in 2018.
Supporting others through cultivating a safe container is my life’s work. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge, expertise and understanding with people who are interested in this ancient and beautiful profession.
Through the practice of massage therapy and the study of the mind-body connection, I have come to know myself, my clients, my friends, and my family on a deeper and more meaningful level. I have also had the privilege of accompanying others on their journeys from pain, loss and uncertainty to places of healing, restoration, and hope.
I welcome all to our space. Any race, gender, spirituality, orientation, and identity has a supported and safe space at Balance Massage.

The difference between a life, and a life well-lived, is finding the courage to embrace your dreams. Come walk that road with us.
Are you ready to embrace your dreams and change your life? We invite you to join us in studying the art of massage.
CREATE A LIFE OF BALANCE, INSPIRATION, AND GROWTH - both FOR YOURSELF and FOR THE PEOPLE WHO WILL SOON COME TO YOU FOR TREATMENT AND HEALING.
At Balance Massage School of Vermont, we take a heart-centered approach to massage therapy education. We offer an apprentice-style program with a strong focus on the foundation of this work - the embodiment of the human experience. The bedrock of our program is the “Inner Resources” course. Here, we learn, explore, and strengthen our human skills - empathy, trust, self-awareness and the practice of non-judgement to name a few. We strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable, confident, and safe.
Our ‘whole person’ approach to massage therapy transfers to our class time together. In our small group, we learn about ourselves and one another - our strengths, motivations, and deepest hearts - in order to better understand what our clients are bringing to us when they come for treatment. We dive deeply into massage technique, the study of the body (anatomy & physiology, pathology, body mechanics, kinesiology and more), and we become skilled and experienced massage therapists who are able to offer our clients healing in a holistic way - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
If you’ve ever considered becoming a massage therapist, we would love the opportunity to share more about our school, and this lifestyle, with you.
